The first Greenlife pyrolysis system was now acquired by company Biochange from Vorarlberg, Austria. The system will be installed in September 2014, further investments are already planned and pre-ordered. Biochange is a waste management company, which is specialized in the disposal of sewage sludge and thus must handle large quantities. With the pyrolysis system Biochange has now found a new solution, which makes the sludge disposal ecologically and economically better.
Per year an average pyrolysis plant is carbonising 4,000 tons of sludge (25% DM) to 500 tons of carbon-phosphorus fertiliser. This so-called biochar contains no organic and hygienic impurities.
Biochange has two goals in mind. On one hand, the current costs for sewage sludge disposal should be minimized. On the other hand, the biochar will be marketed as a product in the medium term.
